Selling on Vinted at Black Friday and Christmas 2026: What to List, When and at What Price
Share
October is the month in which Christmas is decided. On Vinted the fourth quarter concentrates the highest demand of the year — coats, puffer jackets, heavy hoodies, gifts under 30 euros — and it rewards whoever already has a full wardrobe before buyers start searching. Prepare your stock now and you sell in December; prepare it in December and you sell in January, when prices drop.
This is a practical guide to Q4 2026: a week-by-week calendar, the categories the season rewards, how to handle Black Friday discounts without burning your margin, and the shipping deadlines to respect. These are indications based on second-hand seasonality and reseller experience, not promises of profit: results depend on stock, photos, pricing and consistency in listing.
Why Q4 changes the rules
From mid-October to the end of December, three types of demand overlap on Vinted that run separately for the rest of the year:
- Need-driven demand. People looking for a warm outer layer because the cold has arrived. High urgency, low price sensitivity, fast purchase.
- Deal-driven demand. People who favourite items in November and wait for a discount or a price drop before buying.
- Gift-driven demand. People buying for someone else in December, with a precise mental budget (often 15-40 euros) and one dominant fear: that the parcel will not arrive in time.
Three different types of demand call for three different seller behaviours. Treating December like November is the most common mistake and the most expensive one.
The Q4 2026 calendar, window by window
| Window | Priority | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 13-31 October | Outerwear and heavy knitwear | List at full speed, at full price |
| 1-26 November | Listing volume + favourites | List a lot, no aggressive discounts |
| 27-30 November | Black Friday and Cyber Monday | Targeted discount for people who favourited your items |
| 1-17 December | Gift bracket, 15-40 euros | Bundles, gift-friendly titles, fast shipping |
| 18-31 December | Getting ready for January | Photograph and upload the remaining winter stock |
13-31 October: the cold-weather window
This is the best demand-to-competition ratio of the quarter: buyers are already looking for outerwear, but many sellers have not uploaded their winter stock yet. This is where you sell at full price. Absolute priority to jackets, puffers, fleeces, heavy hoodies, wool jumpers and cardigans. If you are still working through early-season stock, the logic is the same one described in the guide on what to sell on Vinted in September, only with the centre of gravity moved one weight bracket up.
Concrete goal for this window: have at least 70% of your winter stock online by 31 October. Whatever you upload in December competes with thousands of extra listings.
1-26 November: building up favourites
November is not the month of discounts: it is the month of volume. Every new listing brings visibility to your whole wardrobe, and every "like" you receive is a potential buyer to reactivate on the 27th. At this stage the quality of the listing matters more than the price: a photo on a neutral background, natural light and a clear shot of the labels lift conversion more than two euros off the price. If views stay low, the problem is almost always the images or the title: the guide to photos that sell on Vinted covers the process step by step.
A sustainable, realistic rhythm: 3-5 new listings a day, spread across the 19:00-22:00 evening slots, when platform traffic is highest.
27-30 November: Black Friday and Cyber Monday
In 2026 Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. On Vinted there is no "official Black Friday" for private sellers: you decide the discount, using two tools.
- Discount on favourites. The most effective lever: cut 10-15% off the items that have already received likes. Anyone who saved that item gets a notification and often buys within a few hours.
- Bundle discount. Switching on a multi-item discount (for example 10% from 2 items, 15% from 3) pushes your average order value up instead of pulling single prices down.
What is not worth doing is cutting 30-40% off your entire wardrobe: it burns margin on items that would sell in December anyway, and it trains your followers to wait for price drops.
1-17 December: the gift window
In December the buyer changes: they are buying for someone else, not for themselves. That has three operational consequences. First, the price range concentrates between 15 and 40 euros. Second, "easy" items (neutral size, recognisable logo, classic colour) beat collector pieces. Third, shipping speed becomes a selling argument: writing it in the description ("ships within 24 hours") makes a real difference in this window.
The categories Q4 rewards
In order of expected rotation over the period:
- Technical and outdoor outerwear. Fleeces, windbreakers, light puffers. This is the category with the most rigid demand of the quarter; recognisable outdoor brands hold their price better than anything else — see the guide on how to recognise vintage The North Face.
- Heavy sweatshirts and hoodies. The perfect gift product: forgiving sizing, right price bracket, steady demand from October to February.
- Wool knitwear. Cardigans, cable-knit jumpers, turtlenecks. Very strong from November, dropping off right after Epiphany.
- Winter denim. Heavy jeans and lined denim jackets; slower rotation but stable margin.
- Accessories. Scarves, hats, gloves and bags: low ticket value but perfect for pushing bundles and clearing the bottom of the box.
If you need to restock now to cover November and December, the vintage KiloBox by the kilo let you buy a pre-sorted mix by weight and category, while the Vinted reseller selection is built for people working on fast rotation. WintageClub lots come with the lot conformity guarantee: 1:1 replacement with other matching items or credit on next order, within 7 days of delivery, on undeclared defect or composition significantly different from product page.
Prices and margin: do the maths first, not after
Q4 is also the period when it is easiest to fool yourself. A high selling price does not mean a high margin: between the platform fee, the cost per kilo and your processing time, the difference between an item "sold well" and one "sold for nothing" only shows up once the numbers are done. Two practical references: the full pricing method is in the guide on how to price vintage on Vinted, while to understand what actually stays in your pocket you need to read up on current Vinted fees.
A prudent rule for the quarter: set the floor price you will not go below, per category, before Black Friday. With that number written down, a discount becomes a decision; without it, it becomes a reflex.
Shipping: the deadline that matters more than any discount
In December the main cause of negative reviews is not the garment: it is the delay. Italian couriers hit saturation from the second week of December and stated delivery times stretch by 1-3 working days. Prudent indications for 2026:
- By 15 December: the last comfortable window for delivery within Italy before Christmas.
- 16-18 December: still possible, but only if you ship the same day as the sale.
- From 19 December: better to state in the description that delivery will happen after the holidays, rather than promise and disappoint.
In this window, transparency and shipping within 24 hours are worth more than any price cut.
Checklist: what to do in the next 7 days
- Count the winter items that are ready versus the ones still to be photographed: if the second number is higher, your bottleneck is processing, not stock.
- Photograph at least 30 items in a single session, same background and same light.
- Write down your floor price per category and save it somewhere you will see it again (you will need it on 27 November).
- Plan your listing rhythm: 3-5 listings a day until 26 November.
- If views are low, work first on the structural causes listed in the guide on why you are not selling on Vinted, and only then on price.
- Check that you have enough boxes and mailers for the December peak: running out of packaging on 10 December stops everything.
Frequently asked questions
When should I start listing for Christmas on Vinted?
Between mid-October and mid-November. December buyers land on listings that are already indexed and already sitting in their favourites: an item listed on 20 December starts with far less advantage than one listed on 20 October. The realistic goal is to have most of your winter stock online by the end of October.
Is it worth discounting during Black Friday on Vinted?
Yes, but selectively. The most effective tool is a 10-15% cut on items that have already received likes, because it triggers a notification to people who were already interested. A blanket 30-40% discount across your whole wardrobe tends to burn margin on items that would sell in December anyway.
What is the last useful date to ship in time for Christmas 2026?
As a prudent indication, 15 December is the last comfortable window for delivery within Italy before Christmas; from the 16th to the 18th it is still possible if you ship the same day as the sale. From 19 December it is more honest to state in the description that delivery will happen after the holidays. Transit times depend on the courier and are not guaranteed.
What sells best on Vinted in December?
Items that are easy to give as gifts: heavy sweatshirts and hoodies, wool knitwear, fleeces and outdoor outerwear with a recognisable brand, in the 15-40 euro bracket and in mid-range sizes. Collector pieces and extreme sizes work better in January, when the buyer shopping for themselves comes back.
The figures and time windows given here are estimates based on second-hand market seasonality: they are operational indications, not promises of results.
